2022 Current Freshman and Sophomore Course Registration Advisement Evenings
Dear 9th and 10th Grade Parents/Guardians,
On February 8th and 11th, the School Counselors will be doing classroom lessons with your students to discuss their Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). An IGP is a projected academic plan for your student’s time at Pope. The IGP is not registration, but rather, a planning tool for students as they map out their graduation requirements and elective choices. Students will be saving a copy of their IGP in their student drive in CTLS. Please ask them to review their IGP with you after their lesson.
In addition, core subject area teachers are making their course recommendations for your student for next school year. By February 7th, you will be able to view these recommendations by going into ParentVue. You can find these recommendations by clicking on each of your student’s core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) and then checking the comments area.
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THROUGH THE REGISTRATION FAQ’S AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION PAGE ASAP FOR IMPORTANT ELECTIVE COURSE REGISTRATION INFORMATION, INSTRUCTIONS, AND DEADLINES. Students will be entering their elective course choices online Wed. March 2nd, through Sunday March 6th. (NOTE: World Languages are electives).
Should you have questions about your 9th or 10th grade student’s IGP or course leveling for the upcoming year, you can sign up to attend one of our Course Registration Advisement Evenings.
The dates for the Advisement Nights in the Learning Commons are as follows:
Tues. February 15th, Wed. February 16th, and Thurs. February 17th
from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
REGISTRATION IS REQIRED TO ATTEND!
You can sign up for one 30-minute time slot per family using the link below.
This event is structured as a “round-robin” format where you circulate around the room to speak with representatives from whichever department you wish, depending on what your questions may be (i.e., differences between on-level, honors, AP, elective course choices, and how to help your student have balance). Counselors will also be in attendance to answer “big picture” questions based on your student’s college/career goals. We encourage your student to attend as well as they will benefit from these discussions.
If you are interested in attending one of our Course Registration Advisement Evenings, you must use the following link to sign up for one time slot per family.

9th Grade Parents/Guardians! Please click below and take a look at this Powerpoint presentation we gave to your students in their 9th Lit classes. This presentation includes information about GPA calculations, promotion and graduation requirements, dual enrollment information, and more! There are voice recordings at the bottom left of each slide that you can listen to if you are interested. If you have any questions there is a bit.ly link at the end where you can leave your questions. We will be going through the list of questions and posting an FAQ section soon. Thank you!
