APPLYING

How to Request Transcripts and Counselor Recommendations

A TRANSCRIPT REQUEST REQUIRES STUDENTS TO USE NAVIANCE, AS WELL AS TO COME TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE TO ENTER THE INFORMATION ON THE STUDENTS' TRANSCRIPT CARD.

1. Students MUST add each college to their 'applying to' list on Naviance. This is the only way a transcript or recommendation letter can be sent.

3. Each transcript request requires a $2 fee. Either come to the counseling office and pay, or go to MyPaymentsPlus .

2. Students come to the counseling office, and enter their college name and application deadline on their transcript cards. Also, include on the card (if needed) a request for a Counselor Recommendation.

TO REQUEST A COUNSELOR RECOMMENDATION:

Step 1 Know if it is required by the college or not--if it is not required, DO NOT send one.

Step 2 Three items are needed for a counselor recommendation:

1-Student Self-assessment (found under ABOUT ME tab in Naviance)

2-Parent Assessment (found in the parent portal under ABOUT ME in Naviance)

3-Resume (this can be uploaded in the journal in Naviance or created in Naviance using the resume builder)

All documents required for a counselor recommendation must be RECEIVED by your counselor

NO LATER THAN TWO (2) WEEKS PRIOR TO THE COLLEGE DEADLINE!

Step 3 - Enter the request for a Counselor Recommendation on the transcript request card in the counseling office.

Check college website for preferred application method. Below you will find links to three often used application methods.

TESTING

Information from GT Admissions About Standardized Testing for 2021-2022 :

Here are three things to know:

  1. Georgia Tech, and all other public universities in our system, are requiring test scores to be considered for admission this year.

  2. We do allow students to self-report test scores, even after applying, via their applicant portal.

  3. Test scores are only one factor of our holistic application review process. We continue to prioritize course choice, rigor of curriculum, contribution to community, and institutional priorities as we make admission decisions to enroll our class.

Pope High School does NOT send test scores to colleges. Test scores can only be sent by the testing center (ACT or SAT).
